KRONOS

An unusual corvette designed to resemble civilian luxury space liners from many decades in the past, operated by the interplanetary navy. Unlike any of the angular and utilitarian vessels that make up the majority of the navy's fleet, its shaping is smoothly curved and its surfaces finely polished with an expensive plasteel-chrome coating covering the entirety of its hull. Exposed radiators which glow a warm amber in the night sky are also fashioned in the style of older generation interstellar vessels, with a pointed tail and sharp conning tower inspired by luxury belt cruisers.

While officially classed as a "Special Duty Vessel", it is rumored to be more of a luxurious yacht for officers, exclusively ferrying high-ranking personnel who have graduated from the various naval academies around the Union systems.

Although suspected to be equipped with long range radio and communications intercept equipment for spying on enemy installations, the vessel is rarely seen venturing further than the designated patrol routes of the 3rd Interplanetary Fleet, usually rendezvousing near the colossal Easton-Paxley "Super Sphere" artificial sun for fuel and food replenishment before returning back to one of its numerous ports where it undergoes months of maintenance due to its rather dated propulsion system.
